Miel Maya Honing asbl is an officially recognised Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO). The organisation is financially independent and does not receive any grants.
MMH - Vision and mission
Miel Maya Honing’s Vision
Miel Maya Honing would like to see a world governed by the principles and values of Fair Trade, sustainable development, social economy, and respect for the Declaration of Human Rights, and in particular Article 23 which states that “Everyone who works has the right to just and favourable remuneration ensuring for himself and his family an existence worthy of human dignity”
Miel Maya Honing’s Mission
Miel Maya Honing’s aim is to improve the living conditions of marginalised rural communities in the developing world and to establish a mutually fair and respectful trade relationship between producers and consumers in more economically developed countries.
In particular, the organisation helps bee-keepers from rural communities who work as a co-operative for ‘public utility’ or those who wish to begin doing so with the production and sale of honey.
